Floral Branch Cocktail Ring

I love this porcelain ring! It’s made by lusterbunny, and available at Purple Pink and Orange for only $18.

A sleek chandelier

August 26th, 2006

My dining room has the worst 80s lighting fixture, but I’ve had a hard time finding a new chandelier to replace it. I love clean, modern lines, but usually can’t afford the price tags that accompany such designs. Luckily, I stumbled upon this beautiful metal and wood chandelier from west elm.

It’s only $169! That’s a steal compared to some of the pricey lighting I’ve had my eye on. Now, I hope I’m handy enough to install it!

C’mon, Fall weather!

August 20th, 2006

'Luella' O-ring pull-on bootSummer, enough already… I can’t wait for fall. Sweaters and skirts and knee-high boots, hooray! Every year I buy a new pair of boots, and this year I knew exactly what I wanted: camel colored, knee-high, rounded toe, wooden stacked heel, and a sleek but not overly prim look. And then I found them, and they are perfect.

Now, if only the weather would co-operate.

I love this felted corsage, and the picture is gorgeous too. It’s available from papa stour, a site featuring Scottish designers.

Curvy, sleek, and shapely

June 22nd, 2006

I’ve already mentioned that I think lamps and chairs are sexy. I forgot to add vases to that list though. How could I forget vases? Mmmm.

I am really coveting these American Bungalow Vases right now.

A little birdie (or two)

June 20th, 2006

I know, birds are everywhere in design right now. I still love them though!

The funny thing is that I am a little creeped out by real birds – I don’t like their dinosaur-like gross feet. And the pecking! Eeep. But, I still love paintings and illustrations of birds. And I love Amy Ruppel’s work.

Clearly, I am not alone… Her work sells out very quickly. It seems like everytime I get it in my head that ‘today’s the day I’m going to purchase an Amy Ruppel painting’, I can’t find any that are available! Her next sale starts Friday, June 30th at 10am (pacific time) on her site, amyruppel.com. I’m marking my calendar now.

Minimalism meets decoration

June 18th, 2006

I adore the necklaces at Blend Creations! They’re the perfect mix of minimalism and sleek industrial design, plus ornament and decoration. Case in point, the Washi Pendants:

They also have some beautiful stationery. The Nature Series features delicate prints of plantlife on a natural kraft cardstock.

So Charmed

June 4th, 2006

I absolutely ADORE charm bracelets. I find them, well, charming! I have a silver one that’s coming along nicely, but sometimes it feels a little too precious.

Luckily, there’s So Charmed. She has necklaces and earrings, and even some handbags, but the bracelets are the real show-stoppers. Plus, I’m a sucker for clever names (aren’t you?).
